Meghan Markle Was ‘Determined’ to Keep Her New York City Trip ‘Under-the-Radar’

Meghan Markle quietly flew into New York City on Friday, left Sunday, and made it her entire trip without attracting any street paparazzi. And that’s exactly what she intended, Page Six is reporting.

A royal insider told the outlet that “after all the big fanfare of her [last New York City] trip for her two-day baby shower, where paparazzi followed her every move and staked out The Mark Hotel to catch Meghan, her famous friends and the array of gifts arriving, it seems Meghan has learned her lesson. She was in New York to support Serena, and catch up with a few other old friends, but was determined to keep everything very low-key and as under-the-radar as possible.”

Meghan was photographed once during her trip to New York: when she was watching her friend Serena Williams play during the final of the U.S. Open. That’s a public event, where all VIP guests are shot.

Other details did come out about Meghan’s visit. Meghan was seen at a yoga class in West Village’s Modo Yoga, although she wasn’t photographed there. “There were lots of sweet, knowing smiles [among others there],” a source told People, which broke news of Meghan’s workout. “She has been going to Modo Yoga for many years and tries to do so whenever she is in New York. It was the perfect remedy for jet lag.”

Meghan also surprised her makeup artist Daniel Martin for his birthday. He revealed that news on his Instagram. “I am so overwhelmed by all of your well wishes!🙊,” he wrote. “My sincerest gratitude!! Thanks to everyone for reaching out to me today and Meg, love you friend for surprising me on my special day 🥰❤️ #itsmybirthday.”

Page Six reports that Meghan actually didn’t stay at a hotel. Multiple sources told the outlet that she stayed at a private residence in the West Village, likely her friend Misha Nonoo’s. Meghan stayed with Nonoo in the designer’s Greenwich Village townhouse during the first days of her baby shower visit too.
