Twitter Is Melting Down Over the Dark AF New ‘Frozen 2’ Trailer

I’m just gonna come right out and say it: Frozen 2 looks even better than the original 2013 Disney classic. Send tweet. No cap. I said what I said.
In the newest trailer, Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) are on a mission to unearth the mystery of Elsa’s powers and save their home from another threat. Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and Olaf (Josh Gad) are coming too, I guess. Here’s what the official release from Disney says:
Why was Elsa born with magical powers? The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, she’ll set out on a dangerous but remarkable journey. In ‘Frozen’, Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In Frozen 2, she must hope they are enough.
That’s dramatic…and so is the trailer. Watch for yourself:
Can we talk about how dark and exciting this sequel looks? Fully grown people on Twitter—who have every right in this world to enjoy an animated adventure about the power of sisterhood, leave me alone—are rightfully melting down.
The giant! The war! Anna telling Elsa to stop running into fire! I’m emotional. Though, I’m also glad I’m not the only one who wouldn’t miss Olaf if he made a sudden disappearance:
But fans aren’t just excited to see their old faves take on new, dangerous foes. They’re also collectively freaking out over a brand new adorable sidekick:
I have no answer to the second part of that question, but I can tell you who my new best friend is.
Bruni—curious and cute, this salamander inhabits the Enchanted Forest. Though shy at first, Bruni can’t help but be drawn to Elsa’s icy magic and enjoys the cool snowflake treats she creates.
