KISS Cancel Australian ‘End Of The Road’ Farewell Tour Dates, Except For One Special Appearance

The end is going to have to be rescheduled after KISS cancelled their Australian tour today – which was due to start next week.

Rock band KISS has cancelled all eight shows on the Australian leg of their End Of The Road farewell tour, except for their under the sea concert off the coast of South Australia.

Earlier this week, lead singer Paul Stanley, 67, was advised by doctors to rest due to a bad case of the flu, in the hope that he would have recovered by the time the Australian tour was set to kick off in Adelaide next week.

Today it was confirmed that Stanley’s illness had progressed to a throat infection, forcing him to take full vocal rest, however, organisers of the concert at sea told the Port Lincoln Times that it would still go ahead without the frontman.

Stanley released a statement today to fans along with the news, “Words cannot begin to convey our massive disappointment in having to cancel our End Of The Road tour of your incredible country. Our connection to you is unparalleled and decades deep.

“We waited as long as we could and held out hope to the last minute that my situation would clear up and we would be able to march forward. Doctor’s orders ultimately have taken precedence and finally, we now find ourselves with no choice but to surrender. With heavy hearts, KISS.”

The band were also set to headline the Australian Supercars Newcastle 500 later this month. It was widely advertised the band was to headline a Saturday night concert with The Screaming Jets.

Supercars organisers have confirmed they will refund KISS concert upgrade tickets.

Expressing disappointment on behalf of fans, CEO Sean Seamer confirmed refunds on concert upgrade tickets will be issued.

“It is with sadness that we inform our fans that KISS has cancelled their upcoming tour of Australia which includes the scheduled performance as part of the Newcastle 500 concert scheduled for Saturday 23rd November 2019,” he said.

“As a result, the concert featuring performances by both KISS and The Screaming Jets has been cancelled.

“This matter is completely out of our hands and we are extremely disappointed for our fans.

All the Australian concerts were “heavily sold out” with some venues making side-view tickets available to cater to the demand.

Meanwhile, ticket holders for End Of The Road concerts who purchased via EFTPOS or in cash will receive a call in the next 15 days to arrange a refund.

Anyone who purchased tickets by credit or debit card does not have to take any action, a refund will be automatically arranged and you should allow 10 working days for the money to be back in your account.

The veteran rock band have been on their End Of The Road tour since January 2019, and are set to perform 186 concerts over 18 months.

It’s unclear when the Australian tour dates will be rescheduled.
