Rihanna Dressed Like Fashion Royalty In A Satin Mini Dress At The 2019 British Fashion Awards

Rihanna doesn’t do award show red carpets often, but tonight in London, she gave the British Fashion Awards the gift of her presence. The Fenty designer and singer stepped out wearing a Fenty mint green satin mini dress with matching gloves, wrap, and a choker necklace to the event at Royal Albert Hall. If Cinderella was a fashion influencer in 2019, she’d dress like this.

And to make a good red carpet photo session even better, RiRi let A$AP Rocky—dressed sharply in a Fenty black suit—pose alongside her. A generous queen:

The British Fashion Awards celebrate the best of British fashion each year, recognizing the innovation of UK designers and design houses.

Rihanna, who has made her own name in the fashion industry for her Fenty line and her Savage x Fenty lingerie line, spoke to ELLE.com during New York Fashion Week in September about why making all women feel represented and included in her acclaimed Savage x Fenty fashion show was important.

“You belong in these pieces,” she said. “You, me, trans women, women of all sizes, paraplegic women, all women are important women! All women belong here, on the biggest platform I can give them.”

Rihanna put thought into the models and performers she chose, she said. With the performers specifically, which included Normani and Halsey, she explained, “I wanted to highlight women who are powerful. To me, power in whatever way you master it is very sexy. And with someone like Normani, you know, she’s an incredible dancer, and dance is athleticism. Dance is powerful. It would be a shame to miss out on the opportunity to have that kind of beauty and power in the show.”
