Kelly Ripa Shares A Throwback Of Her Grown Kids As Babies, and People Can’t Believe It
Kelly Ripa loves sharing old photos of her family, and one Thursday she broke out one that goes way back. In an Instagram post, she shared a snap that shows her daughter Lola, now 18, and her son Michael, now 22, with her husband and their father Mark Consuelos.
“#tbt 2001 Hawaii with #daddy,” she captioned the image.
Fans filled the comments with delight.
“You need to go back & recreate this picture. I’m sure the kids wouldn’t fight you on it,” one said.
“I think it’s great that you call Mark “daddy”! I call my husband the same and we always get the strangest looks from strangers!” another wrote.
“OMG what a cute pic 😉 this babies are so grown now,” a third commented.
“OMG this is so sweet!!! Dem babies!!!” said a fourth.
Ripa opened up to her co-host Ryan Seacrest recently that she was in tears when Lola wanted to watch some throwback videos of their family recently.
“She wanted to see, in particular, a ballet recital where she refused to dance and started yelling at me to put the camera away,” Ripa said. “Which is truly a classic, and one of the great cinematic moments of our family — where she just stopped and she’s dressed like a little bird and she’s like, ‘Put it away!'”
“And she just refuses to dance. You see the camera go down. You can hear my mom laughing hysterically. And she’s like, ‘She’s just like you were,'” she continued. “Mark was home and we were watching these movies together and he reached over and he grabbed my hand and he said, ‘We’ve really built a life together.’ And I got so emotional. When you cry in front of your kids, it terrifies them. They’re just not sure why. They were like, ‘Why are you crying? Are you okay?’ I was like, ‘No, these are tears of joy. These aren’t tears of anger or rage.'”
“He reached over and he just touched me with his hand on my hand and I just got very emotional. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re going to be [an old married couple], sitting on the beach, sending pictures to the kids.'”
A week ago, Ripa shared another amazing throwback photo of her and Consuelos from 2000.
“From the circa 2000 Soap Digest Awards (where we won for outstanding YOUNGER lead actors) to the 2012 Academy Awards (where we did not even get a nom) we can all agree i need a stylist and makeup artist,” she wrote.
