Karlie Kloss reveals drastic measures she used to take to stop herself growing taller

Karlie Kloss resorted to drastic measures as she battled her insecurity about her height. The model, who is 6’2″, lied about her height when she was a teenager and ‘would have given anything to stop growing’. Karlie, 27, even physically tried to stop herself growing because she felt so self-conscious. Speaking on Naomi Campbell’s YouTube series No Filter With Naomi, she said: ‘I really struggled with being so tall my whole life.

‘It’s not like when I was 16 all of a sudden I shot up – since kinderarten, I was taller than all the boys, I was taller than all the teachers.’ She went on: ‘I tried to stop myself from growing. I was trying so hard …cause I heard all these things about how people were helping themselves keep growing but I would have given anything to stop growing.

‘I remember trying to put weights on my head and nothing worked. If there was an option (to stunt my growth), I would have done it.’ Karlie used to tell people she was 5’11”, and when she was 13-years-old she was told she was to tall to be professional ballerina. But her lessons taught her how to accept and love herself. ‘What I learned from ballet was actually how to love my body, how to stand tall, and command presence with movement,’ she added.

Now she’s a jet-setting model who has walked runways all over the world, we doubt she’s worried about her height any more. In fact designers now choose her to rock the last look at their fashion show. The model explained: ‘I’m really tall so I would always close the catwalk shows with a big long gown because every designer knew I could carry it off.’
