Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone season 4 postponed by Infinity Ward

Last week, Infinity Ward announced its plans to launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone season 4 on June 3. On Monday night, the studio revealed new plans to push season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile season 7 to different dates.

In a post on Twitter, the Call of Duty account tweeted a message with an all-black background, announcing that the currently planned seasons for both games will now come at a later date. “Right now it’s the time for those speaking up for equality, justice and change to be seen and heard,” reads the post. “We stand alongside you.”

While the post doesn’t have a tag associating itself with the Black Lives Matter movement, it’s likely a response to the recent protests surrounding the death of George Floyd, the man murdered by Minneapolis police on May 25. This announcement came only a few hours after Sony announced its plans to push June 4’s PlayStation 5 reveal event to a later date.
