Victoria Beckham reportedly relies on the help of a delicious two-ingredient cholesterol-lowering breakfast to help her keep her slender figure.
The Spice Girls legend celebrates her 51st birthday (April 17), with both her husband David and children taking to social media to send their wellwishes.
Away from her music carer, has gone on to force a hugely successful fashion career with her empire expected to soon exceed £100m.
But while she maintains a hectic lifestyle, her health remains of utmost importance and that starts from the very first meal of the day. As her close friend Eva Longoria told the MailOnline during a previous interview, Victoria tends to keep her breakfast simple. She explained: “(Victoria) is actually easy because we eat the same breakfast. We both love egg whites and avocado. When we’re together… she makes a great egg whites and avocado.”

Egg whites and avocado have long since been advised by health experts in helping to form part of a healthy diet, thanks to their high nutritious value and cholesterol lowering impact.
Egg whites
While it may be a somewhat time consuming task to separate egg whites from the yolk, their nutritious content can provide huge health benefits.
One of the food’s main selling points is its high quantity of protein. Crucially unlike some other protein sources, egg whites are exceptionally low in calories, with the whites of a medium sized egg coming in at just 15 calories. That’s compared to 52 calories on average within yolks.

Recently, British Dietetics Association (BDA) spokesperson and dietitian Dr Linia Patel told the BBC why it is so important that people keep on top of their protein intake as they grow older. He explained: “The guidelines for protein when you’re young are very much around getting a balanced diet. Your body will be efficient at taking what it needs from protein, whereas actually, you need to be more aware of your protein intake as you get older because we’re not assimilating and absorbing it as efficiently”.
However, it is worth noting that there are a range of vitamins within yolks that make it just as beneficial.
“Egg whites contain a small amount of B vitamins but, for the most part, all of the other vitamins, minerals and antioxidants found in a whole egg are lost if we’re just eating the whites,” wellnness dietitian Kylie Arrindell previously explained. “For instance, egg yolks naturally contain vitamin D. Not many foods do — it’s part of the reason a lot of Americans are vitamin D deficient — and the more you can get a naturally-occurring source of vitamins and minerals directly from food, the better.”

Avocados
Providing a delicious accompaniment to egg whites, avocados have a number of health benefits.
They are rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, fiber, and plant sterols – all of which have cholesterol-lowering effects. They are also a staple of Mediterranean diets which are proven to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases as well as increasing lifespans.
One study in 2023 also found that individuals who followed an avocado diet experienced reduced total cholesterol levels compared to those who followed a habitual diet or a low-fat diet.
And a 2015 study targeting 45 adults with obesity found that participants who ate one avocado a day lowered their LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol).
