David Henrie and Selena Gomez Have ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ Reboot Idea

Wizards of Waverly Place may be long over, but that hasn’t stopped two of its stars from brainstorming a reboot. David Henrie recently told Entertainment Tonight that he and Selena Gomez have been thinking up ideas just in case the show ever returns.
“It’s not formal,” he said. “But, Selena and I sit and talk about what would the reboot be, and we have a whole take. We have a whole thing.”
It may not be “formal,” but it is thorough. Gomez and Henrie have mapped out just about everything needed for a reboot.
“We want to start the show like a few years later. Start them off at the worst place ever so that way throughout the series you give them a nice, beautiful arch of reuniting. Start them off divided,” he explained. “Alex is a fashionista, off killing it in some other part of the realm. Justin’s, like, the principal [of WizTech] who has a family now… [Jake T. Austin’s] Max has the sub shop, but it’s run down. Start us all completely discombobulated and then throughout the course of the series you bring us all together.”
While the show has been off the air for seven years, Henrie and Gomez have maintained a friendship. Henrie revealed that “Auntie Selena” has been spoiling his six-month-old daughter, Pia, and has even babysat the new baby.
“She got Pia a whole little sweater,” he said. “Selena gave her all her special clothes she made.”
Soon Pia will realize just how big of deal having “Auntie Selena” is.
