Dog The Bounty Hunter shares heartbreak on first birthday without wife Beth
Dog The Bounty Hunter has posted a heartbreaking tribute to his late wife Beth after spending his first birthday without her.
The telly star, 67, was seen running errands yesterday in Denver, Colorado a day after he celebrated the first milestone without wife Beth by his side on Sunday.
The same day he posted a sweet photo on Instagram of himself and his late wife sharing a kiss, writing: “I sure miss you today !!”
Duane ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ Chapman, who turned 67 on February 2, lost his wife to throat and lung cancer last June.
Dog’s tribute to Beth comes days after he revealed his shocking proposal to his late wife’s friend and his son’s ex-girlfriend Moon Angell was just a stunt.
Last week, a teaser clip for The Dr. Oz Show seemingly showed Duane Chapman popping the question to Moon, just seven months after Beth’s death.
Stunned fans were horrified at the move and were quick to slate the reality TV star.
But Monday’s full episode of the daytime medical talk series showed that the whole thing was fake to prove to fans that the pair are no more than “friends”.
After Dog revealed his late wife Beth had wanted him to be happy if she passed away, the 67-year-old turned to Moon and asked her an important question.
During the televised interview, Dog said: “And I didn’t tell you I was going to do this, but this is The Dr. Oz Show.
“I think this will put a stop to a lot of this. Moon Angell, will you marry me?”
A shocked Moon quickly turned to Dog and asked: “What?!”
It also seemed like she was about to utter the word “no” before holding herself back.
Dog asked: “What you saying?”
Moon replied: “We’re friends, I love you as a friend. I don’t see you as that, I love you and Beth as my friends.”
“I can’t marry you, at this very moment, I don’t see you as that.”
The question seemed pretty cut and dry, however, Dog went on to explain that he asked her knowing that her answer would be a firm “no”.
For her part, Moon said she wouldn’t take their platonic relationship romantic despite the flurry of rumours and anger about their companionship from Dog’s own daughter.
“I think he’s an amazing human being, but I’ve known him before he was famous,’ she said. ‘To me, he will always be my best friend. I don’t see myself thinking past that.”
Adding: “Beth was my best friend. Duane is my best friend. I’m not crossing that line.”
During the episode, the reality star revealed to Dr. Oz that he was suicidal following Beth’s death in June and he credited Moon for helping him find the will to live.
