Dog the Bounty Hunter ‘sued’ for failing to pay ‘$100K house payments’ amid spiralling debt
Dog the Bounty Hunter has been hit by more heartache after reportedly being sued over $100,000 house debts.
The TV star – real name Duane Chapman, was left devastated when his wife died from cancer last year.
It was said he was locked in a feud with his family after getting engaged to Beth’s friend Moon Angell, who was a bridesmaid when Beth and Dog tied the knot back in 2006.
It’s also said that Moon had previously been in a relationship with one of Dog’s sons.
Now, there’s more heartache for the bounty hunter, with reports that Dog is being sued for allegedly defaulting on his house payments.
In court documents obtained by The Sun, Duane, 67, and his late wife Beth, who tragically lost her battle with throat cancer in 2019, were reportedly sued on December 26, 2018 for failing to make house repayments.
The iconic TV couple are thought to have failed to pay off the ‘$2,240,000’ Hawaii mansion they got from Karen and Craig Mills in 2015.
However, the publication reported that the former property owners were left angered after the Chapmans defaulted on the payments.
The Sun claimed official court papers read: “As of November 27, 2018, there was an outstanding balance due of $109,328.69 for unpaid monthly payments, and reimbursement for utilities, real property taxes and insurance premiums.”
The Plaintiffs then claimed Dog and Beth “have failed and refused to pay the amounts due” before refusing to leave the property.
After the court was informed of Beth’s passing in June 2019, a settlement conference took place last week on February 10 but no settlement was thought to be reached.
The Sun claimed Duane is now scheduled to be deposed on March 13,2020.
This isn’t the first reported issue about the bounty hunter’s spiralling debts and financial woes following his wife’s death.
Just last week it was claimed Beth’s estate was being sued for unpaid credit card bills and Hawaiian Airlines World Elite MasterCard demanded $73,860.55 on January 27.
A second claim was filed on February 11 for $1,078.78 for a different account.
The debt comes not long after Dog admitted he’s “broke” and in danger of losing his home in Colorado.
Dog is hoping to turn his financial luck around by hunting down a fugitive from Hawaii whose bond stands at $1.5 million.
Dog has been having a rough time of it lately, but it’s been reported he reconciled with his family after his girlfriend Moon moved out of his home.
Duane was left devastated after Beth lost her battle with throat cancer over the summer in June.
The couple starred together in their own reality show, called Dog the Bounty Hunter.
They married in 2006, and they had two children together, Bonnie and Garry.
Duane has 13 children from multiple previous marriages and also went on to adopt Beth’s daughter Cecily.
