“Wow, I actually want to watch the Super Bowl,” ELLE.com’s deputy editor said after news broke that Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will unite for the first time ever on stage at the 2020 Super Bowl LIV half-time show. Jennifer Lopez. Shakira. Is that a collaborative single I smell?

“It doesn’t get any bigger than this! So excited about getting on that #SuperBowlLIV #PepsiHalftime stage!” Shakira wrote on Twitter. J. Lo followed suit, writing, “Going to set the world on 🔥🔥🔥.” What will this iconic pairing even look like? According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, since Super Bowl LIV will be held in Miami, the powerhouse singers will bring “Miami flavor” to the stage.

“Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl,” said Lopez in a statement. “And now it’s made even more special not only because it’s the NFL’s 100th anniversary, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can’t wait to show what us girls can do on the world’s biggest stage.”

Also excited to be sharing the stage with her fellow Latina, Shakira is especially excited to “represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world—and to top it off, on my birthday!” She continued: “This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime!”

J. Lo and Shakira will join Super Bowl alums Maroon 5, Travis Scott, Big Boi—who took over the half-time show in Atlanta last year—Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott.

Super Bowl LIV is scheduled to take place at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium next February.
