Miley Cyrus And Liam Hemsworth Reportedly Haven’t Talked At All Since Split

Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter’s romance has ended, but don’t expect Cyrus and her ex-husband and partner of 10 years, Liam Hemsworth to reconcile now. E! reports that the newly-single singer and Hemsworth have not had any communication since her rep announced their separation in August. Cyrus’ relationship with Carter ending has not changed that.

While Cyrus “still cares” about Hemsworth, the source told E! yesterday, she is “not looking to be in touch.”

People first reported on August 16 that Cyrus hadn’t talked to Hemsworth since her rep announced their separation in a statement on August 11. “They had many happy days together in L.A. and now Liam is not around,” the source said then. (Hemsworth has been in Australia with his family.) “It’s hard for her to be back in L.A. without him. This is not the situation that she wanted. She hoped they could figure things out.”

Now, a source tells People that Cyrus is looking forward to being single and working on herself. “Miley split from Liam to focus on herself. Her relationship with Kaitlynn was a happy surprise,” the outlet’s source said in a reported published yesterday. “However, Miley was so invested in her relationship with Liam for a long time. She felt her relationship with Kaitlynn was almost moving in that direction, too.”

Cyrus has been open about her very present feelings for Hemsworth post-breakup. In her first statement on her divorce on Twitter, Cyrus wrote that she would always care about the Australian actor. “Liam and I have been together for a decade,” she wrote. “I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will. BUT at this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind. I am the healthiest and happiest I have been in a long time.”
