Strictly’s Kelvin Fletcher talks about ‘impact’ of being taken away from wife Liz
Kelvin Fletcher discussed the toll being on Strictly has on his marriage.
In recent weeks, the Strictly hopeful skipped his wedding anniversary to perfect his dancing moves.
And now the actor, who is dancing with Oti Mabuse, has broken his silence about the “impact” being on the show has on his romance with his wife Liz.
The hunky star remarked he had been “taken away” from his family as well as his jam-packed work schedule and his friends to compete on Strictly.
Liz has been holding down the fort at home by herself raising their two young children Milo and Marnie while Kelvin practices his dance moves for the live shows.
He told new! magazine : “You’re taken away from your work, your family, your friends and that does have an impact. But in one way it’s quite good because it makes the time when we get back together extra special.”
It comes as Kelvin missed out on spending his wedding anniversary at his wife’s side.
Instead, the dad-of-two took to Instagram to mark the occasion with a series of loving pictures and a touching message.
He wrote: “28th November 2015. Happy 4 years wedding anniversary darling. You’re the love of my life.”
Their love story is the stuff of dreams as they shared their first kiss when Liz was just eight years old.
They didn’t get together until two years after Liz had finished university all those years later.
Kelvin and Liz exchanged their vows in 2015 and have been stronger ever since.
The hunk spoke about his close friendship with his dance partner Oti as he described her as his sister.
He added: “Yeah [we’re close], we’ve got a great friendship. Sometimes we’re like brother and sister.
“She is obviously there to tell me when I’m wrong – which is quite often.”
