Veterans Day 2020: Free food and other deals to honor members of the military
Veterans Day 2020 is Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Veterans and military personnel can get free meals, free haircuts and free admission.
Here are the deals we found:
Arooga’s
Active duty military or military veterans with valid military ID can get one free menu item from a select menu on Veterans Day, at participating Arooga’s.
The offer is limited to one offer per person for dining-in only and the offer does not include a beverage.
The special menu includes a Buffalo Pretzel, Chopped Salad, Sriracha Chicken Caesar Salad, Black Angus Cheeseburger with a side of fries, chips or cole slaw, Grilled Cheese and Bacon with Tomato Basil Soup, Spicy Italian Wrap with a side of fries, chips or cole slaw, 10 Boneless Wings with your choice of sauce or an Original Boli.
Bonefish Grill
Bonefish Grill is offering a “Heroes Discount” of 10% off all service members, veterans and first responders’ checks all day, every day with show of valid ID.
Military personnel past and present can get 10 boneless wings and fries for free at Buffalo Wild Wings on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2020.
Bailey Coach
Bailey Coach will offer a free doughnut and a $20 off coupon for a Pa. vehicle state inspection on 7-11 a.m. on Veterans Day. Bailey, 1708 Route 116, Spring Grove, will also give away 11 coupons for a free inspection. Veterans just need to pull into the parking lot and an employee will give you the doughnut and coupon. Military ID is required.
Buffalo Wild Wings
Past and present military personnel can get free wings at Buffalo Wild Wings on Veterans Day.
With identification, military members will get 10 boneless wings and fries. The offer is good for dining in at Buffalo Wild Wings and take-out.
Carrabba’s Italian Grill
Carrabba’s is offering all service members, veterans and first responders 10% off any visit to their local restaurant on Veterans Day and year-round with valid ID.
Civil War Museum
The National Civil War Museum at 1 Lincoln Circle in Harrisburg will offer free admission toveterans, active-duty military service members and military retirees on Veterans Day. Hours that day are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Social distancing guidelines are in place, facemasks are required for entrance to the museum, and sanitizing stations are placed throughout the building.
Cracker Barrel
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store will donate a $10 gift card to Operation Homefront for every Country Fried Turkey Family Meal Basket that is sold in November.
Military veterans can receive a free slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake with their meal on Veterans Day.
On Veterans Day, Dickey’s Barbecue will give a free pulled pork sandwich to veterans. From Nov. 9 to Nov. 15, when guests make a purchase through dickeys.com or the Dickey’s App, they will have the option to add one, five or 10 Pulled Pork Classic Sandwiches to be delivered to local Veteran organizations. Additionally, the Dickey family has pledged to match every sandwich donated to double the efforts to feed veterans.
Denny’s
Denny’s will offer a complimentary “Build Your Own Grand Slam” to all active, inactive and military personnel on Veterans Day.
The Build Your Own Grand Slam includes a choice of four items for a fully customizable breakfast. And with more than 11 choices, such as fluffy buttermilk pancakes, eggs cooked to order, bacon strips, buttermilk biscuits and hash browns, there is something for everyone.
The offer is valid for dine-in only at participating locations from 5 a.m. to noon with a valid military ID or DD 214.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will give veterans and military personnel a free sandwich on Veterans Day. With military ID or proof of service, Dickey’s will give a free Pulled Pork Classic Sandwich to military personnel and veterans for in-store dining only.

The Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center is closed on Veterans Day so it will hold a Veterans Appreciation Day 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, with free admission to the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience. Veterans will be required to show proof of veteran status to obtain tickets.
Great Clips
Retired and active members of the military can get a free haircut at Great Clips on Veterans Day.
Great Clips also will award accept nominations for a member of the military to receive free haircuts for a year and a $350 gift card.
On Nov. 11, members of the military can receive a free haircut or a free haircut card to be redeemed by Dec. 11, 2020.
Civilians who get a haircut on Veterans Day will receive a free haircut card to give to any service member.
Little Ceasars
Little Caesars is offering all United States Armed Forces veterans and active military a free HOT-N-READY Lunch Combo at participating stores nationwide on Veterans Day 2020.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. veterans and active military can receive the free lunch that includes four slices of “Detroit-style Deep Deep Dish Pizza” and a 20-ounce Pepsi product.
Maxwell House is saluting troops and thanking them for their service by offering free canisters of its limited-edition Maxwell Houses for Heroes pack (1-pound or 3-pounds camo canister).

Red Lobster
Red Lobster is offering veterans and military members a free appetizer or dessert on Veterans Day.
The free appetizer or dessert is available for dine-in customers with a valid military ID or other proof of service.
The appetizers available are Lobster and Langostino Pizza, Seafood-Stuffed Mushrooms, Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, Langostino Lobster-Artichoke-and-Seafood Dip, Crab-Stuffed Shrimp Rangoon, Signature Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail or Mozzarella Cheesesticks.
The desserts are Chocolate Wave, Vanilla Bean Cheesecake, warm Apple Crostada or Key Lime Pie.

In order to reduce crowds on Veterans Day because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Red Robin is making a free burger and fries available to members of the military Nov. 12-30.
Military personnel can get a free Tavern Double burger with Bottomless Steak Fries at participating restaurants by signing up for Red Robin’s Royalty program.
Red Roof Inn
Red Roof offers military personnel, both active and retired, a 10% discount with promo code “VP606732” all year round. Veterans also can join Veterans Advantage, which is free and offers members additional exclusive military discounts, including a 20% discount at Red Roof with code VP 544993 year round.
Royer’s Flowers and Gifts
Royer’s Flowers & Gifts will continue an annual tradition when it honors veterans with free patriotic bouquets. The bouquets – featuring a red carnation, a white carnation and a blue bow – will be available in-store only at any of Royer’s 16 locations in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties.
Non-veterans may purchase the bouquet for $1.90.
Sheetz
Sheetz will offer veterans and active duty military personnel a free meal and a free car wash on Veterans Day.
The meal is a free half turkey sub and a regular size fountain drink. Military ID or proof of service must be presented to qualify.
