In honor of Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming out tomorrow, we have a Halo themed cosplay of the day.
Since Halo: Combat Evolved made its debut on November 15, 2001, it has spawned 5 sequels and a successful spinoff.
It’s not often a video game can establish itself as a science fiction icon, but the Halo franchise has done so.
With it’s seminal characters and world building, and its rich lore, Halo is a favorite amongst science fiction fans and gamers alike.
One of the most loved characters in the franchise is the AI, Cortana.
Cortana is the Master Chief’s greatest love, friend, and enemy in one.
Today, she is brought to life by cosplayer Melissa, aka Meltdown87.
From the different shades of translucent blue, to Cortana’s trademark blue hair, this cosplay has it all.
The makeup really pops as well, the blue lipstick being a nice touch.
Melissa also has that uncanny natural face structure that makes her a dead ringer for modern Cortana, specifically the Halo 4 and 5 versions.
Cosplays that are a labor of love always turn out great, and the attention to detail makes this special.
Kudos to Melissa for the reverance to the source material and character.
Melissa currently has 1600 followers on Instagram, but that’s likely to change given the quality of her cosplay.
