TEKASHI 6IX9INE TO RELEASE NICKI MINAJ-ASSISTED SINGLE ‘TROLLZ’ FRIDAY
The rumors were sadly true. Nicki Minaj is doing another collaboration with Tekashi 6ix9ine called “TROLLZ” and it’s slated to be released on Friday, June 12th.
There were rumors that the rap legend was joining forces again with the disgraced rapper, which many were hoping wasn’t true. But Nicki’s official webstore unveiled the artwork for the record.
Onika teased new music on Twitter on Monday when she tweeted what appeared to be unknown lyrics. “Showed you how to get a bag now u goin shopping,” she wrote.
The Barbz instantly ate it up. “don’t be shy put some more,” one user wrote.
Many believe the line is from her upcoming single with Tekashi. “A portion of the proceeds from #Trollz including merch items, will be going directly to The Bail Project Inc.,” Nicki announced on Instagram. “The fund provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford to pay bail while awaiting their trial. We want to protect and support the thousands of brave people working on the front lines of social justice, using their voices to demand AN END to the targeting and killing of Black Americans by the police. #BlackLivesMatter link in bio to Pre-save. #TrollzVIDEO tmrw @ midnight “
The two New York artists previously collaborated for “MAMA” featuring Kanye West on Tekashi 6ix9ine’s debut album, which was leaked shortly after his indictment. They also displayed their growing friendship on “FEFE” which Nicki strategically added to her Queen album tracklist. Ever since that record was released, she and Drake have been seemingly beefing but that’s another story.
Apparently, Minaj joins Akon on the list of people who didn’t “cancel” Tekashi. Her ex-boyfriend Meek Mill, who she has bad blood with, vowed to personally crush him for being a snitch.
So this is going to be an interesting weekend on the East Coast. Plus, Pop Smoke’s debut album is scheduled to drop on the same day. Which drops are you most excited to listen to?
