Candance Owens gets furious as she was stopped by cops while entering Whole Foods without mask

A police offer pushed conservative fire brand Candace Owens and her husband aside from Whole Foods without a face mask, prompting her to deliver a passionate social media speech about the “tyranny” that slowly overwhelms United States. In a viral Twitter post released Tuesday afternoon, Owens announced that she and her husband had been approached by a police officer while shopping at Whole Founds due to a new Washington, DC policy that forced consumers to use a face mask when entering a business.

She wrote: “WOW. I just had a police officer call me and my husband at Whole Foods because we weren’t wearing masks. We came to this @WholeFoods EVERY DAY. Apparently as of yesterday, it is now illegal to enter without a mask. Total deaths in Covid DC? 69. ”

After being bombarded with criticism from members of the far-left, who’ve shown a disturbing willingness to sacrifice their rights at the altar of the #coronapocalypse, she posted two more tweets, including one containing a lengthy video rebuttal.

Owens said D.C.’s policy “makes no sense” because “deaths have gone down,” despite all the barhopping and public frolicking that had preceded the district’s shutdown.

“People were spilling out of the bars because they had closed work. And because they had shut down the schools, people were drinking all day in Washington, D.C., because that’s natural human behavior,” she said.

“And during that same time is when all the kids went down to spring break because they didn’t want to miss their spring break. And I was observing all that, and I said to my husband, ‘If what they are saying is real, we are going to see outbreaks in all these areas because there’s no way to contain it.’”

Yet that outbreak never materialized in the D.C. area, she claimed: “We have not seen an outbreak of COVID-19. We have not seen an increase in deaths.”

D.C. is up to 2,058 cases and 67 deaths versus Michigan’s 27,000 cases and 1,768 deaths.

Owens added that it’s unfair to institute a mask policy without supplying masks to the public.

“[I]f you’re going to have a mandate, you better supply them – I’m not spending my money on getting masks,” she said. She concluded that rules such as the face mask policy seem “erratic.”

“This is just a game of Simon Says,” she said.

A national game of Simon Says, in fact, for while the idea of being forced to wear a mask amid a global pandemic isn’t necessarily that draconian unto itself, the stipulation by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is part of an exponentially expanding list of mandates being instituted across the country.

Adding to the disturbing nature of these mandates is that they don’t appear to be driven by solid science but rather by hysterical overreactions. Over in Michigan, for instance, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has banned the selling and purchasing of gardening seeds and paints, meaning American citizens in the Midwest state can’t even grow their own food amid this crisis.

Meanwhile, as the governor has been systemically decimating her own constituents’ rights, it appears she’s been doing little to nothing to actually stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus in her state.

“Michigan has the highest death rate from coronavirus in the nation, and has conducted among the fewest tests per capita of states hit hardest by the pandemic,” the Michigan-based watchdog group Bridge Magazine reported Monday.

A day later, word emerged that the governor’s constituents were preparing to protest against her.

“At least 15,000 cars and trucks are expected to descend on Michigan’s state capital on Wednesday to protest what they’re calling Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s tyrannical new guidelines to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus in the state,” Fox News reported.

“The so-called ‘drive-by’ demonstration – in order to maintain social distancing — aims to bring traffic to a gridlock in Lansing and protest the ‘Stay Home, Stay Safe’ executive order by Whitmer, a Democrat, mandating what businesses could stay home, what some businesses could sell and ordering people in her state against any gatherings – no matter the size or family ties.” Such protests have not yet been scheduled for the D.C. area.
