Gwyneth Paltwo may be extremely forthcoming about her personal life, but she’s always a little more discerning when it comes to her children. In a new photo, though, the world got a glimpse at her now 15-year-old daughter (yes, 15), Apple Martin.

Derek Blasberg posted a photo of Paltrow sandwiched between her daughter and mother, Blythe Danner, in honor of her 47th birthday.

“Today is the middle one’s birthday, but let’s celebrate the entire Danner-Paltrow-Martin bloodline,” he wrote. “Here are three kind, talented, sweet, lithe (rhymes with Blythe!), wonderful women. The apple doesn’t fall from the tree—and neither does Apple. Wishing you the absolute bestest year ever @gwynethpaltrow!”

Paltrow occasionally shares moments publicly with her children. She recently duscussed her parenting life in an interview on the Today show. In addition to Apple, she also has a son, 13-year-old Moses, with her ex-husband, Chris Martin.

“They’re really coming into themselves,” she said. “They’re hilarious. They’re smart. They can talk. They can sort of muse about things — it’s the greatest.”

In true Paltrow fashion, though, she got in a little not-for-morning-television quip about her kids.

“Yeah, they can be kind of, you know, dicks once in a while,” she said.

“We don’t usually put a seven second delay on when Gwyneth comes on,” Guthrie said. “I don’t even know if we’re allowed to say that!”

“Sorry about that,” Paltrow added. “Sorry! Sorry America!”

Paltrow also shared that having a teenage daughter helped give her the confidence to share her experience with Harvey Weinstein. In 2017, she accused him of sexually harassing her in a hotel room when she was 22.

“I think also having a teenage daughter that’s the love of my life, and worrying about her going into the workplace and feeling like if there was ever a chance that there could be a cultural shift on this stuff, I wanted to participate in,” she explained. “I never could have imagined that collectively a shift this seismic would happen, but I feel proud that I have a small part in it.”
