Princess Diana’s Niece Lady Kitty Spencer ‘Engaged’ To Millionaire Boyfriend

Get ready for an epic day of royal-spotting: Lady Kitty Spencer, niece of Princess Diana, is reportedly engaged. The 29-year-old may not strictly be royal, but her connections with Prince William and Harry – they are first cousins – means that her forthcoming wedding will have one of the world’s most enviable guest lists. Is it too early for us to start wondering what Kate and Meghan will be wearing?

Reports claim that Lady Kitty is engaged to Michael Lewis, a multi-millionaire fashion tycoon from South Africa who is 32 years her senior. The engagement has not been officially confirmed, but Kitty is sporting one enormous sparkler on her ring finger that is impossible to miss.

‘Michael proposed to Kitty before Christmas’, a source told The Daily Mail. ‘She’s been in Cape Town for the holidays and told her mother and the rest of the family. Michael is loved by all of them. Despite his wealth, he’s very humble and low key.’

Michael and Kitty appear to have been together since 2018: there were rumours of a romance in August of that year. But they really earned some attention in 2019: they were seen in New York in May, leaving a hotel together, and then again in St Tropez in August, where they were photographed walking hand-in-hand down the beach. Not an official statement, then, but definitely suggestive of a bonafide relationship.

Kitty’s South African connection’s pre-date her romance with Michael. Her siblings – Louis, Amelia and Eliza – moved to Capetown suburb Constantia in the 90s, following their mother’s separation from Diana’s brother Earl Spencer.

Michael, 61, has an estimated net worth of £80 million, is listed as a director of fashion retailer Foschini Ltd, and is also the founder of an Israeli biotech company. He has three children from a previous marriage.
