Steven Spielberg’s daughter reveals her ’empowering’ new career: porn star
Steven Spielberg’s 23-year-old daughter Mikaela revealed in an interview Wednesday that she is an aspiring stripper and porn star and that her famous and powerful Hollywood parents are very supportive of her career choice.
“My safety has always been a No. 1 priority for them,” the Nashville, Tennessee-based Mikaela Spielberg said in an interview with The Sun. “I’m doing this, not out of an urge to hurt anybody or be spiteful about it, I’m doing this because I want to honor my body in a way that’s lucrative.”
Mikaela Spielberg furthermore described herself as a “sexual creature,” and explained to The Sun that she had grown frustrated with working a more traditional job. She said she wanted to find a way to “capitalize on her body.”
“I also just got tired of working day to day in a way that wasn’t satisfying my soul,” Mikaela Spielberg told The Sun. “I feel like doing this kind of work, I’m able to ‘satisfy’ other people, but that feels good because it’s not in a way that makes me feel violated.”
“This is a positive, empowering choice,” she emphasized. “I realized there is no shame in having a fascination with this industry and wanting to do something that is safe, sane, consensual.”
The Sun reported that Mikaela Spielberg’s father, the Academy Award-winning director of “Jaws,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Schindler’s List” and other classic films, and her mother, actress Kate Capshaw, adopted her as a baby. Mikaela is one of seven children that Spielberg, 73, has with both Capshaw, 66, and with his first wife, Amy Irving.
In her interview, Mikaela Spielberg also revealed that she had been sexually abused as a child, though not by any member of her family or by anyone who was in her parents’ circle of friends. The abuse, she said, led her to struggle with anorexia, borderline personality disorder and alcoholism as a teenager and young adult.
So far, Mikaela Spielberg has only worked on solo videos, which she self-produced. She said she had published them on PornHub, the free porn website, but has since removed them as she works to obtain her Tennessee adult entertainment permit.
Mikaela Spielberg also told The Sun she would not do films that involve her having sex with other men, out of respect for her 47-year-old fiancee, Chuck Pankow, whose profession is darts player.
“The reason I don’t want to do anything outside of solo stuff is because I feel like it would be a violation of my boundaries and my relationship with my significant other,” Mikaela Spielberg said, adding that his Southern upbringing initially made it difficult for him to accept her wish to go into adult-film work.
“There’s so much shame around that still,” she said.
Mikaela Spielberg told The Sun she hopes her career will allow her to become financially independent from her parents, who she say she loves and speaks to regularly.
“I actually think that once they see how far I’ve come from the bottom I was at a year and a half ago, they’re going to look at this and go, ‘Wow, we actually raised a really self-assured, young lady,’” she said.
