The Lumineers Perform ‘Tiny Desk Concert’

The Lumineers spent part of their day before playing the massive Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on February 28 visiting NPR Music’s offices and recording a just-released Tiny Desk Concert. While the band’s five-song performance focused on material from The Lumineers’ new album III, they also played an old favorite.

Up first for The Lumineers was III single “Gloria.” Frontman Wesley Schultz then discussed addiction and the tale behind the next song they performed, “Leader Of The Landslide.” Members of the septet went on to connect an instrumental version of III’s “April” with “Salt And The Sea.” The latter track was written and recorded by The Lumineers for an M. Night Shyamalan film but the director didn’t need it. Schultz, Jeremiah Fraites, Stelth Ulvang, Lauren Jacobson, Byron Isaacs and Brandon Miller ended the set with “Stubborn Love” from their self-titled 2012 debut studio album.
