Watch Jazz Jennings undergo emotional gender affirmation

It’s time to get real.

Jazz Jennings has been advocating for the LGBTQ community all her life, and in the I Am Jazz TLC series she has been able to reveal her openness about her ups and downs and what life looked like for her as a transgender woman. In the latest season of the show, fans will get an in-depth look at her gender verification surgery and everything that led to the life-changing experience.

“I have had a sex verification operation, but I need a third procedure,” she reveals in the new trailer. Fortunately, she has the support of her friends and her ex boyfriend Ahmir Steward. “Ahmir and I are no longer together, but I wanted his support as a friend.”

True to her word, Jazz shares all the good, the bad and the intermediate. “I hope this is the last operation,” she says about the procedure. Fans will see what the doctors went through during the operation, and due to the appearance of the trailer there were some complications.

Jazz has been very open about the process of transferring and leaving fans on its journey. She recently went to her Instagram to share photos of her operating scars in a raw and honest post. These are my scars that are fully visible in # 2019, “she wrote with the photo of the bathing suit.” I am proud of my scars and love my body as it is. I call them my battle wounds because they mean the strength and the perseverance needed to finally complete my transition. ”

In this season of I Am Jazz, she also offers a front row seat for other important life decisions she has had to make, such as where she goes to college. Like many teenagers, she is trapped between her parents’ hopes for her life and future, and what she wants. Like any proud parent, her mother and father send her to a future in Harvard, but she is more interested in a school on the west coast.
