Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have ended their relationship after about three years together. A source told Entertainment Weekly that the Wicked co-stars had a quiet, amicable breakup several months ago and have privately been apart since.
According to the source, the decision took a lot of time and thought on both sides, and the two remain friends who continue to support each other.
How they met
Grande and Slater met on the set of the Wicked movie musical, where she played Glinda the Good and he played Boq, who becomes the Tin Man. Both separated from their spouses at the time, Dalton Gomez and Lilly Jay, in July 2023.
Despite heavy media scrutiny, the two spoke warmly about each other. At the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked in November 2024, Grande called Slater an amazing person, and he said he was proud of her performance.
