Anne Hathaway has a simple answer for people online claiming her baby bump is fake: “Fake hair, real bump.”
The Oscar winner, who is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, showed off her bump in a halter top and low-rise jeans at the Los Angeles premiere of The End of Oak Street. Some TikTok commenters insisted the bump looked fake. The next day, Hathaway replied with a behind-the-scenes Instagram video of getting ready.
Inside the video
The clip shows her team getting her ready for an outdoor event in 95-degree heat. As a stylist pulled her hair into a big ponytail, she told the camera it wasn’t her own hair. The final look was a custom Atelier Prabal Gurung halter top with a flowing train in blue and red silk, worn with La Ligne jeans.
She even kept in a funny moment from the film’s block party, when a silicone bra insert slipped out from under her top and landed on the grass before an assistant quietly picked it up. She said she’s enjoying every moment of the bump because it won’t last forever.
A welcome surprise
The baby will join brothers Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. Hathaway has said the pregnancy at 43 was a happy surprise. She and Shulman had kept their expectations realistic, and she said they’re overjoyed because they know not everyone gets this chance.
